#51481 - Rolex Octagonal Oyster in 9ct Yellow Gold With Original Porcelain White Dial & Black Leather Strap Year: 1935 Price: SOLD Shipping (Within UK): FREE Shipping (Worldwide): £12 Description Rolex 9ct octagonal Oyster in very fine condition, beautiful and original white porcelain dial and fitted with new black leather strap with complementing gold-filled buckle. Very rare piece. Case 9ct yellow gold case in very fine, original condition with no signs of repair to fixed lugs. both front bezel and rear cover screw down correctly and tightly. Winding crown is a later replacement but 'in keeping' with the watch and almost identical to the original item. Both crown and tube are excellent with good threads on both case and crown itself. This is a full size version of this design and not a mid or boys-size. Case dimensions are 32mm in diameter (not including crown), 10mm thick and 38.5mm lug to lug. Dial & Crystal The dial, in this case an original white porcelain one is in flawless condition with no marks, chips or hairline cracks. It is a very rare centre-seconds dial (the vast majority from this period are sub-seconds). The dial itself is stunning with red five minute markers around the outer edge and bold, art-deco numbers. Dial is singed 'Rolex Oyster' with 'Swiss Made' at 6 o'clock. Breguet style, blued steel hands with a red centre-seconds hand complete the watch. The crystal is a standard Plexiglas/acrylic type and is brand new. Bracelet/Strap We have fitted a nice black leather strap to the watch with complementing gold-filled buckle. This watch has 'fixed lugs' and as such, would require an open-ended strap.
