#51128 - Rolex Stainless Steel Oyster Imperial Chronometer With 'Quartered' Or 'Bow-Tie' Dial & Mid-Brown Alligator Strap Year: 1942 Price: SOLD Shipping (Within UK): £7.50 Shipping (Worldwide): £12 Description Gentleman's stainless steel Oyster Imperial Observatory in very fine condition with re-finished antique white & silver 'Quartered' or 'Bow-Tie' dial and mid-brown Hirsch 'Genuine Alligator' leather strap. Case Highly polished, stainless steel case is in fantastic, crisp condition and has only been very lightly polished by ourselves once since new. Still bears serial number clearly on rear cover. Rear cover exhibits none of the all too common damage to the toothed edge and screws on and off perfectly. Original 'Top Hat' signed Rolex winding crown. Case dimensions are 29mm in diameter (not including crown), 10mm thick and 38.5mm lug to lug. Dial & Crystal We have recently had the original centre seconds dial re-finished back to its original factory printing with luminous numbers and outer minute track. This style of dial is often referred to as 'Quartered' or 'Bow-Tie'. Dial is signed 'Rolex Oyster Imperial Chronometer' with 'Observatory' just below the centre with 'Swiss Made' at 6 o'clock. Original blued steel luminescent hands are in excellent condition. Original acrylic crystal is also in excellent condition with no noticeable scratches. Bracelet/Strap Brand new, Hirsch 'Genuine Alligator' strap finished in mid-brown with complementing stainless steel buckle. We are also Hirsch stockists and can change the strap to any from their 'Classic' machine made range, or 'artisanal' range of superb hand-made straps if you desire (subject to cost).
