No brassing on case at all, beautiful double-sunk porcelin dial, immaculate movement. All original. Case The screw back & bezel, white gold-filled case was made by the Philadelphia Watchcase Co. The covers and side of the case are attractively decorated. Both cover and bezal screw on tightly and leave no gaps. The bow is firm and crown is in excellent condition. Dial & Crystal Brilliant white, double sunk dial with sub seconds dial is marked Hamilton with bold black arabic numerals and has red 5 minute markers around the outer edge. The plastic crystal is totally free from scratches or chips and is like new. Original dark blued steel hands are in excellent condition. Movement The 3/4 plate movement is marked Hamilton Watch Co. USA 992, 21 jewels, Adjusted Temp. & 5 Positions (adjustments and testing that had to be completed before the 'railroad grade' was approved) This is a lever set watch which means you need to remove the front bezel and pull a small lever that sits at 1 o'clock. The movement serial no: C91131 dates it to 1943. Some features of this particular model of movement are solid gold centre wheel, gold timing screws, gold jewel settings & a micrometric regulator.
