Description

Gentleman's Rolex stainless steel Air-King with stunning, original silver dial and smooth bezel. Completely original watch and very rare to find a model 5500 Air-King in such excellent condition. This must be one of the very last ones made with an R prefix serial number. Equivalent model RRP: £3,280.

Case

Stainless steel case in totally mint, crisp condition with traditional smooth stainless steel bezel and screw down 'Twinlock' winding crown. Case bears reference no: 5500 and serial no: R786xxx. Amazingly, the original green hologram sticker is still in place on the rear cover. This watch has not seen much use since new. It's completely original was a genuine surprise to us.

Case dimensions are 34.5mm in diameter (not including crown), 12mm thick and 42mm lug to lug.

Dial & Crystal

Original metallic, silver dial is in perfect condition (please excuse pixilation in some images - this is the camera, not the dial) and has applied baton hour markers along with Rolex coronet at 12 o'clock. Dial is signed 'Rolex, Oyster Perpetual, Air-King, Precision' with 'T Swiss Made T' at 6 o'clock. Matching stainless steel hands are also in perfect condition.

Sapphire crystal is unmarked and appears 'as new'.

Bracelet/Strap

Very fine condition stainless steel heavy-link 'Oyster' bracelet with virtually no play/stretch in links - feels like brand new. Bracelet will currently fit approx. 8" wrist or can be adjusted. Very rare to find an original bracelet like this in such flawless condition.

Movement

Automatic model 5500, calibre 1530 signed Rolex movement in very fine condition - recently serviced and keeping superb time. Full 12 months warranty.
